Arok Heroes,
A Welcome as Radiantly Brilliant as the Sun

Auspicious sun shining in the expanse of the sky
Excellent constellation, the conch moon shining bright in space
The new whiteness of radiantly brilliant light swirls on the ground
Completely perfect, ecxcellent and magnificent qualities have come to this place
Arok Heroes, you are welcome to these Tibetan New Year festivities.

A, the regent of the sky,
Is the disposition of naturally occuring heroes.
Rok is their expression.
We enjoy whatever delights us of the six tastes of the four elements.
Arok is the undeceiving speech of interdependent arising,
The language that shows the results of virtue and wrongdoing.
Intelligent Aroks, having fully realised this,
Are heroes who correctly follow the way of cause and effect.
Arok Heroes, you are welcome to these Tibetan New Year festivities.

A is the undefiled, excellent, supreme friend.
Rok is heart talk about what to adopt and what to reject.
Yours is not mistaken worldly chatter,
So praise to all of you, Khampa Aroks.
 ‘Arok’ is called out
From the middle of the mud of samsaric suffering,
Incited by words of liberation.
Heroes, determined to become free, busy yourselves with liberation.
Arok Heroes, you are welcome to these Tibetan New Year festivities.

A is unborn emptiness.
Rok is the meaning of unceasing interdpendence.
You, who wish to engage in the union of
Emptiness and interdependence are called heroes.
The meaning of arok is vast and profound.
If you wish to become busy with joyfully delighted faith,
Become a supreme being who leads the six realms.
If you do not, who will?
So, you are called heroic Khampa Aroks.
Arok Heroes, you are welcome to these Tibetan New Year festivities.

Assembled guests, Arok Heroes,
we invite you now to enjoy some Tibetan traditional dances from Kham.
